Nowadays, we can find a lot of different kinds of games, ranging from the relaxing casual ones, to the games that require fast-paced controls with a lot of buttons that should be ready at all times. Some examples are mostly the strategic games, and online games, or as we call it as MMOs. Using both keyboard buttons and a mouse seem to be ineffective for some people. They want something that’s much simpler. Thus, the mice specially designed for those games arrived, with more responsiveness and thumb buttons.
We have the two of many here, the Corsair Scimitar and Naga Trinity. We’re talking about the big boys in the industry here, and they don’t want to get left behind in the roller coaster of technology. Corsair Scimitar has been known to be an alternative for MMOs play, with its affordable price of course. But the condition has now changed with Trinity beginning to be more affordable than Scimitar.
Before deciding which one is actually worth to buy? Let’s see the comparison below.
Corsair Scimitar – $ 99.9
MMO mice have been a thing recently, with few contenders putting themselves on the top including Logitech G604 and Razer Naga Trinity. Corsair, on the other hand, wants to join in the battle with its budget mouse, Corsair Scimitar RGB, that’s sitting around a hundred dollars. The idea of the Scimitar’s birth is not only the comfort, but also the aspect of performance with its notable gimmick.
With an understandable level of price, Scimitar is also able to give tedious software even though sometimes, most users would find themselves tangled up in configuration. Such an interesting price would make MMO fans lingering their eyes over Scimitar.

What you need in MMO mice are those thumb buttons, and Corsair has been very generous about it. In Scimitar, you can find 12 customizable thumb buttons, more than Logitech, but at the same level as Naga Trinity. Since there’s the word “customization”, you’re given a choice of using them or not.
The size however, is not for those with small hands, Scimitar RGB is 4.7×3.0x1.9 inches, a large one in its kind. But since it’s bigger than most, they are allowed to put more buttons that users can easily accommodate.
Surely, aside from those thumb buttons, there’s right, left, and a scroll in the middle. All is placed right in the center, so even with all those thumb buttons, it still looks pretty normal as usual. You can also find two additional buttons with one to control profile selection, while the other is for controlling DPI sensitivity.
Since the thumb pad itself is the main selling point of this mouse, you may find yourself befriending Corsair Utility Engine Software in the future. It’s not the thing for simplicity, there’s many other ways to make it simple, but it’s really versatile.
Corsair Scimitar is surely a decent choice along the MMO mice market, and a warm welcome to the addition. But since there’s a lot of contenders all around it, Corsair should work harder for creating another innovative product. It’s slightly better than Logitech, thanks to the movable thumb pad, but still couldn’t give enough value to overcome the all-rounder ones like Naga Trinity. Read also: Razer Naga Chroma Vs Epic.
Naga Trinity – $ 89.7
Arriving at a more affordable price than Scimitar, everyone would surely think that Nagara Trinity is the worthy one. Naga Trinity is overly great, everyone knows it, completed with side panel design that can be swapped over and a wide range of utility. Low latency is promised with wired-connection nature. And another thing that’s good from Naga Trinity is it’s actually compatible with Razer Synapse 3 for further customization.
It’s not a small mouse however, so it would please the ones with larger hands more. The low latency it has is more than perfect for MMOs, and there’s 19 different personalized thumb buttons that can be adjusted to your satisfaction. You can easily create shortcuts for many different commands and actions, and since it’s ergonomically good, all fit within your grasp.
But, we know that Razer mice are certainly not for everybody. Usually they are short, and wide, and couldn’t meet some people’s expectations since it’s not comfortable to their hands. Unfortunately, they didn’t change anything in this Naga Trinity, only added the pinky grip and two DPI buttons right behind the scroll. Also don’t forget Razer’s RGB lighting.
But you may wonder what’s the thing about the Trinity? As the name implies, Naga Trinity is actually three mice put into one with the left side being interchangeable. It gives you many options, anybody would have utilized it very well. There’s 19 buttons up to your likings, really handy for playing games with many buttons, including the MMOs. 12 buttons can be found on the left and right side, with two buttons behind the scroll wheel, and usual mid-left clicks.
Its more extra buttons do serve much handy later on. Obviously, Razer marketed this mouse for MOBAs that required a lot buttons to be used for skills and others. Playing Shooting games like PUBG or Fortnite wouldn’t require many buttons ready on the keyboard, and that’s when those thumb buttons work wonderfully.
With a price slowly reduced to less than 90 dollars, Naga Trinity is an absolutely better choice for those of you who’d like to have both mice for general and gaming uses. It’s really handy, looking great, and offers a lot of utility and customization that can be swallowed easily even for beginners.
