Logitech G602 vs MX Master

You are currently confused between Logitech G602 vs MX Master and can’t decide. Both are wireless mice suitable for working and gaming. However, there are important differences between Logitech G602 and Logitech MX Master that may affect your preference. For example, Logitech G602 has a higher maximum sensitivity and more programmable buttons, whereas Logitech MX Master comes with extraordinary battery life and doesn’t really need a USB port. See the more detailed comparisons below!

Performance
In terms of performance, both are very good. Both Logitech G602 and Logitech MX Master have superior tracking accuracy and precision. You will love these mice. However, Logitech G602 has higher sensitivity levels up to 2500 dpi, so it can move faster across the screen. The higher sensitivity can be useful for navigating a large display screen and some games. On the other hand, Logitech MX Master only has a maximum sensitivity level of 1600 dpi, which is definitely still usable for various purposes – see Logitech MX Master vs MX Master 2S if you need higher sensitivity or FLOW.

Note that Logitech G602 will require a mouse pad to be used on a glossy surface. On the other hand, Logitech MX Master uses the Dark Field Laser Sensor. It enables the mouse to track on virtually any surface. It can be used on a glossy surface, such as glass, as long as the surface has a thickness of at least 4 mm.

Features
Logitech G602 comes with 11 programmable buttons. By the way, you can map two of the side buttons for horizontal navigation, if you really need to. There is a switch for swapping between the Performance mode and Endurance mode – the latter can greatly extend the battery life, and this feature can be handy at a critical battery level considering that the mouse can’t be recharged via USB. You can also create five sensitivity profiles and change the profile on-the-fly. You can use it in an FPS game for more accurate sniping.

On the other hand, Logitech MX Master is geared more towards productivity. It has a unique thumb wheel for easy horizontal navigation. The thumb wheel also supports gesture recognition. Next to the thumb wheel are two programmable buttons. This mouse does not have the on-the-fly sensitivity switching.

Connection
Logitech G602 uses the 2.4 GHz frequency, and it requires the dongle to be connected to your computer. So, despite being wireless, it still requires a USB port. It can only connect to a single computer at a time.

On the other hand, Logitech MX Master connects wirelessly using Bluetooth. So, it does not always require a USB port. It can even connect to three computers at once via Bluetooth, and you can switch between the computers by pressing a button. This feature is handy if you often work with multiple computers. It can also connect using a USB cable, which also recharges the mouse.

Battery Life
Logitech G602 works using a pair of AA batteries, which can last up to 250 hours in the Performance mode and 1440 hours in the Endurance mode. On the other hand, Logitech MX Master works with a built-in rechargeable battery that can last for about 40 days from a single charge.

Conclusion
If you don’t really need to save your USB ports, Logitech G602 is generally the better choice. It has a sensor with higher maximum sensitivity, and it has more programmable buttons. You can even program two of the buttons for horizontal navigation to substitute the thumb wheel of Logitech MX Master. However, if you prefer a USB-rechargeable mouse or if you need the ability to connect to multiple computers at once, Logitech MX Master is the way to go.
