If you are looking for a mouse that can greatly boost your productivity, look no further. Logitech MX Master is the best productivity mouse that you can get with your money. The advanced laser sensor ensures uncompromising performance on all surfaces, and the thumb wheel enables easy navigation. Nevertheless, the company has released a new model for the MX lineup, which is Logitech MX Master 2S. From the looks, the two mice seem quite similar. So, what changes and improvements has the company brought with the new mouse? See the comparisons between Logitech MX Master vs MX Master 2S below!
Accuracy and Sensitivity
Just like the old model, Logitech MX Master 2S comes armed with the Darkfield Laser technology. This laser sensor is designed specifically to allow the mouse to work on glossy surfaces. It enables the mouse to work on glass or any other high-gloss surface, though the thickness of the surface should be at least 4 mm. Nevertheless, you will be able to use the mouse on glass tables.
Both Logitech MX Master and Logitech MX Master 2S have excellent tracking accuracy. They respond to your movements very well. Unlike some other cheaper models, these mice really feel great.
However, Logitech MX Master only has a maximum sensitivity level of 1600 dpi. In general, it is already good enough for most desktop applications and navigating long documents or pages.
Logitech MX Master 2S comes with a maximum sensitivity level of 4000 dpi. Such high sensitivity level becomes handy when you need to navigate on a very large display or through multiple displays. It is also useful for working on CAD projects especially the large ones. If you want to use your office mouse for gaming as well, you may also benefit from the higher sensitivity levels.
The biggest addition that the company has brought into Logitech MX Master 2S is the FLOW functionality. By using this feature, you will be able to connect up to three computers to the mouse, and simply move the pointer over the edge of a computer to go to the next computer. In addition, the FLOW software also acts as a file-sharing hub for the three connected computers. You will be able to copy a file from one computer and paste directly on another computer. If you work with multiple computers frequently, this can be an awesome time-saving feature.
The old Logitech MX Master does not have such feature. It can connect to three computers, but you switch across the computers by pressing on a button. The mouse does not work as a file-sharing hub.
The old Logitech MX Master already has an excellent battery life which goes up to 40 days per charge. The new Logitech MX Master 2S has increased the capacity so that it can last for up to 70 days per charge. These mice recharge very quickly; they can get enough power for a full day after just four minutes recharging.
