Gaming Mice
Video games are getting so popular today that almost everyone is familiar with at least to one or two titles they may or may not play. The amount of games you can play for free are also increasing rapidly as players are looking for a more interesting story or graphics but, besides the requirement or specs to play these games which can take quite a lot from your PC, they also open a new market of gaming peripherals especially for mouse, keyboard, headset, and even microphone.
When it comes to answering whether these are necessary or not, the answer will highly depend on what you want. If you can spend the budget then we can go with the fanciest setup out there but if you don’t want to make the financial sacrifice then chances are we can still game using the typical office setup as long as the processing unit and monitor can handle the game you play. The additional components are mostly improving experience or for aesthetic purpose.

If you want to know whether a gaming peripheral will improve your experience or even skill, there is no other way then try it for yourself and one of the easiest as well as cheapest to swap is the mouse itself. Gaming mouse is a very standard choice today that even those who don’t play any game would like to have one because they are just that attractive. Besides the look, a gaming mouse usually comes with bells and whistles that can benefit you in one way or another.
For gaming mouse the typical boasted ability is high DPI which means your mouse can move faster, not the hand but the cursor which can be both good and bad depending on what you are doing but for FPS where accuracy is the most important, we don’t want the tracking to be so fast as it will hinder you to make a hit. Thankfully they are adjustable which is great as you can match it with what feels best for the type of application.
Another tricky part is the mouse design and ergonomics. This is because the tool will always be in your hand, below the palm so it is necessary to find the one that feels right for you as people have different hand sizes and different styles they are used to. Bigger hands usually need bigger mice and big mice also require palm grip which puts all of your main fingers and palm on top of the unit or claw grip if the mouse is shorter and lower.
About UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600
There is no one size fits all when it comes to mice and this is applicable to your office setup as well but, chances are you can always get used to a new mouse if it is quite different from the one you owned before, just give it a time. For gaming purposes however, you may want to consider other factors such as the mouse bells and whistles to make sure they can work best in the type of game you are playing.
If you are here then we assume you are also currently looking for a new gaming mouse or the first gaming mouse and the type of game you play most often is multiplayers. There are actually mice designed for this popular genre and among the companies offering the product, UtechSmart and Logitech are two that produce the choice. Both are known for their quality products and we also trust their gaming mice to offer the best experience while gaming without a hefty price.
Price is often what prevents us from trying new technologies but these two are very competitive in this side that it seems you can always find at least one in the budget range. For MMO players, UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 are two interesting options you may want to consider for their capabilities. As you can see on the sample picture above the two are distinctly designed for those who need macros in their game and this is why they come with plenty of buttons.
In general all gaming mice provide the same function including these two but experience may vary and we do think you can love the two as they are equally amazing. What sets UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 apart the most in our opinion is probably the comfort or how you will hold these mice as these wedge shapes are usually not the best in ergonomic hence it can be very subjective about which feels better on the player’s hand.
UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 Design
If you have owned a similar mouse before, the typical MMO style mouse is still the same which is bulky and large in our opinion especially as they have to fit so many buttons on the unit so chances are users will be using a palm or claw grip, or probably a hybrid of the two. The mouse specifications are 4.6 inches long, 3 inches wide and 1.5 inch tall compared to 4.6 inches long, 2.9 inches wide, and 1.6 inch tall so side by side they are about the same to each other.
The mouse has this matte, black fashion all over the unit which subjectively we like better compared to those with textured finish. But, the Logitech does have a small area where you place the pinky finger that is covered with something like rubber with texture. These are also wired mice and it is the typical braided wire which makes them durable from wear and probably small animals in your house. Read also: Razer Naga Trinity Vs Logitech G600 here.
UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 Sensor
Moving further, the first part we want to talk about UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 is their sensor and they are already different here with optical and laser respectively. As for the highest DPI they can offer up to 16400 and 8200 DPI settings which you can adjust in their software. This amount should be enough for typical applications and we never have to use any highest setting on gaming mice because they will be over sensitive so we do think anything that can offer 3000-4000 DPI is already good enough.
UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 Buttons
What’s more important is probably the additional buttons in these mice as they are carrying 12 of them on the left side. These buttons can be used for macro and can be programmed individually to execute any functions or combination you want. These keys are not completely flat either so in both mice each button has their own shape to prevent you from pushing the wrong one. But, this will happen after a while as our memory can’t register new information this fast.
There are also typical DPI shift button and profile selection button in between the right and left click but in Logitech G600 you will get another button right on where the ring finger rest and this can be used to access the G-shift which function is to access the second set of functions recorded for each button yet, this can be adjusted as well to follow your preference.
UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 Ergonomic
The last part we want to talk about is their ergonomics and first thing first both UtechSmart Venus and Logitech G600 are typical palm grip mice which are quite large on most hands. The surface is contoured so the point finger has a taller height than the rest of the fingers when in placement. They feel quite good for the average hand size but personal preference matters so you may have a different impression. A hybrid claw grip is possible as well but you may find it uncomfortable when accessing the thumb buttons.
The feel of these mice are pretty much the same as well but subjectively we are more into G600 because it is a bit narrower and the decision not to put any thumb support here is better rather than putting a support but is too narrow which is not only doesn’t work properly but also a bit distracting.
UtechSmart Venus Vs Logitech G600
These MMO specified mice are probably what you can get to optimize budget and functions as they are very affordable but, besides the software difference which is better on the Logitech side, the G600 also has G-shift for doubling each button into programmable keys. In terms of comfort we also like lighter mouse and the narrower shape makes it more comfortable for our hand.
Conclusion
Overall you can go with just any of these mice depending on which seems to fit you the most but comparing the two we do like Logitech G600 better as it feels more comfortable in our hand but if you like a wider mouse, the Venus is also a great choice.
